Blue Black

Inspired by information in The Brain's Way of Healing by Norman Doidge, we are creating a soothing mini-film based on the idea of the relaxing effect of a velvety blue black colour. You can see this colour when you use the practice of palming (technique here) to rest and relax the eyes. At this time of year with the stressful joy of Christmas I'll be giving it a try. The kids and I have already experimented comparing colours with our eyes just closed or closed with hands gently palming the eyes. I went walking

I guess I get it from my Mother, in times of stress she would get up early and hit the streets. As an adult whenever I have felt crazed, walking has been my antidote. So I was thrilled to find this quote from Soren Kierkegaard in a letter to Jette (1847) which expresses how I value walking. "Above all, do not lose your desire to walk: every day I walk myself into a state of well being and walk away from every illness: I have walked myself into some of my best thoughts, and I know no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it."
